Culinary tip:

Fennel is delicious in salad with tomatoes or cooked as a gratin or compote.

Soil tip:

Cover the foot of the plant with soil as soon as they have developed well to obtain perfectly white bulbs.

Culture advice:

1. Sows: Sow from March to July in lines 40 cm apart.
2. Thinning: At the 3-4-leaf stage, pull out the smaller ones and keep only the strongest ones to leave only one plant every 20 cm.
3. Harvest: Harvest from late July to November. For a harvest from December to March, sow from mid-July.

Plants:

Fennel likes the proximity of turnips because the aniseed scent of fennel scares away the turnip fly.
