Want to install a water collector in your garden? Be aware that you may receive financial aid. We explain which ones and how to benefit from them.

Installing a rainwater collector in your garden helps you reduce your drinking water consumption and reduce your impact on groundwater. For this ecological approach, some financial aid may be granted to you.

Is a tax credit still possible?

As of January1, 2014, it is no longer possible to benefit from a tax credit for the recovery of rainwater. Unfortunately, this tax credit has been abolished.

On the other hand, you can benefit from other financial aid. We'll explain which ones.

What are the current financial aid?

A VAT rate reduced to 10%

It is possible to benefit from a reduced VAT rate for the supply and installation of a stormwater recovery device. In 2019, the applicable rate is 10% (compared to a normal rate of 20%). To take advantage of this, the water collector must be installed in your main residence, if it has been completed (thus inhabited) for more than 2 years.

Help from communities

It is also good to know that in order to preserve groundwater, some communities (region, department, community of agglomeration or municipalities, municipality, etc.) can issue grants for the installation of a rainwater collector. To benefit from these grants, check with your town hall.

The water collector: savings on a daily basis

Recovering rainwater also saves money on a daily basis. Indeed, in France, drinking water has a cost. The latter depends on the investments and costs required for the operation and distribution of water, but also for the disposal and reprocessing of wastewater. A price that has been steadily increasing for several years. So, reducing your consumption by using rainwater for certain tasks (watering, flushing, cleaning the floor or laundry) can lower your bill.

At multitanks, we have a wide range of tanks and cans specially designed to collect rainwater. Contact us for more information or visit our website to find the water collector that works best for you.
