Brass compression fittings are plumbing devices used to connect two brass pipes or tubes in a tight manner. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc that is durable, corrosion resistant and easy to work with. Brass compression fittings are ideal for commercial and industrial plumbing applications as they are able to withstand higher pressures than plastic fittings. They are also chemical resistant and can be used in water treatment applications. Brass compression fittings are available in a variety of sizes and shapes to meet different installation needs. A “1/2 inch” thread measures 20.96 mm, not 12.7: in plumbing, the inch size is not converted, it is read from a chart.
