How this selector works

The questions are asked in the order in which they eliminate the largest number of solutions. The container comes first: equipment designed for a 200-litre drum is not suitable for an IBC container, and vice versa. Area classification comes next, because it immediately rules out any non-certified equipment as soon as an explosive atmosphere is possible.

The thermal objective — maintenance, temperature rise, frost protection — points towards one technology rather than another. The industry sector adds the constraint of materials in contact. The target temperature completes the filtering, since some equipment is limited to reduced ranges.

Results are presented in two groups: the heating equipment proper, then the accessories that improve the efficiency of the installation and the accuracy with which it is controlled. Insulation is not optional in practice: it reduces the power required, speeds up the temperature rise and lowers the surface temperature.

What the selector does not do

It points towards a family of products, it does not calculate a power rating. Precise sizing requires knowledge of the exact nature of the product to be heated, its specific heat capacity, the temperature difference targeted and the acceptable time frame — data specific to each configuration. Likewise, it does not substitute for the hazardous area classification, which is the responsibility of the operator.
