The operating principle: vibrations to keep

The ACTO device does not use any chemicals. Its action is based on the emission of vibrations in the ground. Every 60 seconds, the device generates a 5-second sequence of vibrations. These waves propagate in the earth and are perceived by reptiles, which are particularly sensitive to ground vibrations. They interpret these signals as potential danger or the presence of a predator, which creates an inhospitable environment and prompts them to leave the area. The device emits these vibrations in all directions, covering an effective circular area within a radius of 12 to 15 meters.

Implementation tips for optimal efficiency

The location of your repellent is a determining factor in its performance. For a convincing result, it is advisable to install it in a sunny area to ensure optimal recharging of the battery. Avoid areas of shade cast by trees, walls or hedges. The nature of the soil also influences the propagation of waves:

• Dense soils: Clay or silty soils are excellent conductors and allow maximum diffusion of vibrations.

• Light soils: In sandy or stony soils, propagation is less effective.

For large or irregularly shaped lots, and to get around obstacles such as tree roots or garden edges, creating a protective barrier is the best approach. Install multiple devices 20 to 25 meters apart to ensure seamless coverage.

Installation and precautions for use

Setting up the device is simple. It is sufficient to push it into a previously loosened soil. Never use a hammer or tool that could damage the housing or solar panel. During the first hour of operation, it is prudent to keep children and pets at bay. Indeed, it is possible that reptiles dislodged from their hiding places move to the surface. To ensure the longevity of your unit, periodically clean the solar sensor with a damp cloth and be careful when passing the lawn mower. Finally, make sure that the connections are not exposed to stagnant moisture.
