Expert advice

Grain-based PROTECT EXPERT bait, is a very palatable rodenticide that allows the elimination of most rodents: black rats, mules, sewer rats and house mice. It comes in the form of ready-to-use sachets with excellent palatability without the risk of dispersion. It is used in places such as cellars, breeding premises, backyards, warehouses

Before treatment
 :

  • Remove any easily accessible food for rodents (e.g., scattered cereal or food waste).
  • Consider small jobs such as filling holes or access roads, getting rid of all favorable shelters (old materials, waste etc.)

Bait positioning :

  • Choose safety by adopting locked bait boxes! Their use is mandatory and protects the baits to provide rodents with a sense of security and prevent other animals from consuming the baits.
  • Position ready-to-use baits in sachets (do not open the sachets) in secure and properly labelled bait stations . Download the label (below) to print and stick on your baiting station.
  • Baiting stations should be placed in the immediate vicinity of the place where rodent activity has been observed (e.g. rangeland, nesting sites, feedlots, holes, burrows etc.) and if possible be attached to the ground or other structures.

Controland follow-up :

  • At the beginning of treatment, baiting stations should be inspected every 2 to 3 days (against mice) or every 5 to 7 days (against rats), then 1 time a week thereafter in order to check if the bait is consumed.
  • The time to onset of the anticoagulant effect is 4-10 days after ingestion of the bait.
  • Reload the station if necessary, respect the duration of the treatment to avoid a new infestation. The number of bait stations depends on the site of treatment and the severity of the infestation.

After treatment :

  • Search for and dispose of rodent corpses during treatment, at least whenever baiting stations are inspected.
  • Remove any remaining bait or baiting stations at the end of the treatment period.
