Duracool 12a is a natural hydrocarbon-based refrigerant gas, designed to replace R12, R134a and 1234yf gases in automotive air conditioners. Ecological and efficient, it has no effect on the ozone layer and has a very low GWP, which makes it a solution for the future in accordance with future regulations. Its larger molecules allow savings of 30 to 40% on the load and up to 40% of energy. A 170g can is equivalent to several hundred grams of traditional fluids. To ensure the safety and validity of the warranty, its use is reserved for our specific refill hoses, designed for its unique 1/2 ACME thread. Its acquisition does not require approval, facilitating its use on a circuit empty of any fluorinated gas.

    • 513g of CFC-R12

This allows you to achieve substantial energy savings of up to 40% compared to conventional gases. Duracool 12a is also compatible with mineral and synthetic oils, simplifying its implementation.


 

An Ecological and Regulatory Choice

Duracool 12a is distinguished by its very low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3.0 to 3.15. This figure is particularly low, especially compared to the gases it replaces: R134a (GWP of 1430) and R12 (GWP of 10900). This low environmental impact clearly positions Duracool 12a as a refrigerant of the future, in line with future regulations that will impose GWP of less than 150 from 2030. In addition, its acquisition and installation do not require any approval for use in a circuit empty of any fluorinated gas. The pharmaceutical-grade purity of the hydrocarbons used is rigorously controlled and certified, ensuring optimal reliability and safety.


 

Usage Tips and Compatibility

To ensure a successful installation and warranty validity, it is imperative to use Duracool 12a with our DC4000 and/or DC402 charging  hoses. The thread of our bobbins is specifically designed in 1/2 ACME, and the use of non-compatible hoses could damage the bobbin. Although Duracool 12a is miscible with other refrigerants such as R12, R134a and 1234yf, it is strictly forbidden to mix these fluids with each other. If your circuit still contains a fluorinated gas (CFC, HFC or HCFC), the law requires that it be recovered beforehand by an approved professional, in accordance with the decrees in force.
