A rat or mouse infestation is not only a nuisance; It is a threat to the hygiene and integrity of your home. Targeted and effective action is essential to address this problem. The ACTO anti-rodent stiff paste is a solution developed to meet precisely this need. Offered as a ready-to-use bait, it is designed for simple and methodical use to regain control of your environment, whether inside your home or in the direct vicinity of buildings. This product is aimed at those who are looking for a concrete means of action to eliminate established pest populations.
The key to the success of this product lies in its composition. The paste, enriched with cereals and oiled, offers a very high palatability that attracts rodents, even in the presence of other food sources. The active agent, difenacoum (0.0029%), is a potent anticoagulant. Its mode of action is deliberately delayed, acting between 4 and 10 days after consumption. This delayed effect is a strategic asset: it prevents other members of the colony from making the link between the consumption of the bait and the death of their fellow creatures, thus avoiding any mistrust and ensuring consumption by the greatest number. A bittering agent (denatonium benzoate) is also included to reduce the chances of accidental consumption by humans.
Using the ACTO stiff dough is designed to be both simple and safe. The product is packaged in individual 10-gram bags that must not be opened. These bags must be placed in secure bait stations (sold separately), which protect the bait from the elements and prevent access to children and non-target animals. The recommended dosage is as follows:
Against mice (indoor use only): Up to 50 grams of bait per station, with a distance of 2 to 5 meters between each station.
Against rats (interior and surroundings of buildings): Up to 100 grams of bait per station, spacing the stations 5 to 10 meters apart.
Place bait boxes in rodents' places (along walls, near holes, in nesting areas) and, if possible, secure them to the ground.
A rodenticide treatment requires a minimum of follow-up to ensure its effectiveness and safety. It is advisable to inspect the bait stations after a few days: every 2 to 3 days at first for mice, and after 5 to 7 days for rats. After that, a weekly inspection is sufficient. This check makes it possible to ascertain the consumption of the bait, to refill the stations if necessary and, above all, to remove rodent corpses for hygiene reasons. The complete treatment, from bait setting to colony removal, should take about 35 days. If the activity persists beyond this period, it is recommended to consult a professional.
The handling of a biocidal rodenticide (TP14) requires compliance with strict safety regulations. First and foremost, consider preventative control methods such as sealing holes or removing food sources. When using the product, safety is paramount:
Always place bait stations out of reach of children, pets, birds and livestock.
Wash your hands after each handling of the product or workstations. Wearing gloves is strongly recommended.
Never place bait near food, beverages, or water drainage systems.
Never touch rodent corpses with your bare hands. Use gloves or tongs to handle and dispose of them in a proper collection circuit.
In case of accidental ingestion, immediately contact a poison control centre (N° ORFILA 01 45 42 59 59) presenting the product packaging. The antidote is Vitamin K1, administered by a healthcare professional.
Store the product in its original packaging, in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight, for a shelf life of 2 years.
