This data feeds an intelligent algorithm that calculates the actual water needs of your plants. The sensor runs for several months thanks to its optimised power management.

The smart Water Control timer manages up to 6 different watering programmes with minute-level precision. Compatible with standard 20x27 and 26x34 threaded taps, it delivers a maximum flow rate of 5400 l/h at 6 bar pressure. Its built-in filter protects the components from impurities.

Simplified installation and setup

Installation begins by connecting the smart Gateway to your internet router with the Ethernet cable supplied. Download the GARDENA smart App to your smartphone and follow the guided setup wizard. The app automatically detects the Gateway and makes pairing the components easy.

Position the weather sensor in an open area, about 1.5 metres above the ground, out of reach of the sprinklers but exposed to the weather. Attach the timer directly to your outdoor tap and connect your existing watering system (garden hose, drip irrigation, sprinklers).

The software setup lets you define separate watering zones, set preferred times and adjust sensitivity to weather conditions. The system offers preset programmes for lawns, flower beds and vegetable gardens, which can be customised to your specific needs.

Optimisation and expert usage tips

To get the most out of your smart kit, schedule watering during the cooler hours (early morning or evening) to limit evaporation. The app lets you create seasonal scenarios: intensive programmes in spring, night-time watering in summer, gradual reduction in autumn.

Regularly check the consumption statistics provided by the app to identify periods of heavy watering and adjust your programmes. Clean the timer filter monthly and check the condition of the seals. In winter, remove the timer and store it away from frost; the sensors are designed to withstand sub-zero temperatures.
