This raised garden bed is perfectly suited for growing small vegetables such as radishes, lettuce, spinach, herbs (basil, parsley, chives) and young cherry tomato plants. With a capacity of 74 litres of substrate, it allows dense and productive growing on a reduced surface area.

Ideal for balconies, terraces, urban courtyards and small gardens, this raised planter makes maintenance easier by reducing back strain. Its height of 19.5cm improves drainage and prevents waterlogging, a key factor for successful growing. Beginners will appreciate the perfect control over soil quality and the absence of weeds.

Installation and practical use

Assembly is completed in less than 5 minutes by simply stacking the planks into the provided grooves. No tools are required, making installation accessible to everyone. Start by positioning the bed on a relatively flat surface, preferably on a drainage sheet.

For filling, use a garden soil/compost mix (2/3 - 1/3) or quality potting compost. The 74 litres correspond to approximately 3-4 bags of 20L of substrate. Make sure to leave 2-3cm between the soil level and the rim to facilitate watering.

Maintenance is limited to occasional brushing and the application of a natural wood stain every 2-3 years to preserve the aesthetics of the wood. In winter, you can leave the bed in place or disassemble it for sheltered storage.

Expert tips and optimisation

To maximise your harvests, practise square foot gardening by dividing your bed into 4 zones of 30x30cm. Each zone can accommodate a different species, allowing crop rotation and space optimisation.

Combine several 60x60cm beds to create an evolving modular vegetable garden. You can also stack multiple elements to obtain deeper beds, suited to root vegetables such as carrots or turnips.
