The 3/4" BSP bung, and what you connect to it

Every cap is threaded 3/4" BSP gas thread at its centre. That outlet takes a tap, a hand pump, a hose-tail fitting or a dispensing hose. The drum stays closed while you draw off.

Across a fleet, this lets you dedicate certain drums to dispensing and keep the rest sealed, with no handling between uses. The taps move around, the caps stay put.

Compatibility and precautions

The S56x4 thread is fitted to standard plastic drums and jerricans. Check the marking on the neck before ordering in quantity: an S60x6, a DIN61 or an S70x6 will not screw on, and ten unsuitable parts make for an expensive mistake.

HDPE tolerates oils, common solvents and outdoor exposure. Screw the cap on by hand or with a drum wrench without forcing it past contact: the thread deforms under excessive load, and a tired cap no longer guarantees a tight seal.
