Why two aerosols rather than one

The brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) and the green shield bug do not settle at random. They look for winter shelter and call in others with aggregation pheromones: where a handful lands, dozens follow. Treating a single room just moves the problem. That is what makes a garden bug inside the house so hard to shift once it has brought the rest in.

With two aerosols, you treat outside and inside in one operation: south-facing walls, window frames, shutters and air vents on one side; skirting boards, corners and the undersides of furniture on the other. It is the only way to block the route for the next ones. The second aerosol also covers the end-of-season top-up, when the first frosts drive the late arrivals towards warm walls.

An insecticide that acts fast and keeps working

Where to spray, and when

Target the entry points before the insects themselves: thresholds, joinery joints, door and window frames, air vents, roller shutter boxes. Three to five seconds per area is enough. Indoors, follow up on skirting boards, room corners and the undersides of appliances.

Timing matters as much as technique. Late September and October, before the bugs start looking for winter shelter: that is the most useful window. March and April, when they come back out and breed: that is the second pass. Outdoors, concentrate on south-facing walls and the edges of planting, where they gather before moving in.

Precautions not to skip

The product is extremely flammable: no heat source, no flame, no cigarette while spraying. Ventilate after application and wait before going back into the room, especially with children or pets.

Cover aquariums and keep pets away during treatment: the formula is toxic to aquatic organisms. Never spray on food or worktops. Store the aerosols in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children. An unopened aerosol keeps from one season to the next, so the second one can be used the following year.
