Two S60x6 male-outlet fittings in a single shipment. Enough to fit out a second tank, open up a second draw-off point, or simply keep a spare on the shelf for next season.
Same HDPE fitting as the single unit, same 2’’ S60x6 female thread: it screws onto the valve of a standard IBC tank by hand, no tools.
Set of 2 S60x6 Fittings with male outlet for 1000-litre IBC tank (Reference: 100247x2) answers a situation every tank owner knows : one fitting almost never stays enough for long. Either a second tank turns up, or you want a second draw-off point, or the first fitting ends up left screwed onto something somewhere. This set of two covers all three cases.
The cost of an fitting is not just its price : you have to add the shipping. On a forty-gram part, carriage often costs more than the item itself. Ordering two fittings in the same parcel therefore works out far cheaper than two separate orders a few weeks apart.
It is also a question of availability. An fitting that breaks or goes missing in midsummer means watering is at a standstill until the delivery arrives. With a spare in the workshop, the problem is sorted out in two minutes.
The first case is the second tank. Many people start with a single IBC, then add another to increase their reserve. Both tanks then take the same fitting, and can be linked together or used separately depending on the season.
The second is the twin draw-off point. A tank with a valve at each end, or a tank plus a secondary butt, lets you water from two sides without moving the hose. On a large garden the time saved is real.
Two strictly identical fittings, in high-density polyethylene. HDPE stands up to ultraviolet light, temperature swings and the residues naturally found in rainwater : the fitting can stay outdoors all year round.
The inlet is a 2’’ S60x6 female thread, the standard on IBC valves. The outlet is a male end that takes a garden hose, a quick connector or a drip irrigation feed. No tools needed : screw it on by hand, clockwise, until it seats.
Do not overtighten : the HDPE thread marks if you force it with pliers. Hand-tight is enough to get a seal.
Before winter, drain the fitting and store it under cover if the tank is no longer in use. Water freezing inside a thread can crack it. A rinse with clean water once a season covers the rest of the maintenance.
