A real water outlet on your tank, and a pipe you disconnect with one movement. The kit brings together the bulkhead fitting, the 1 inch ball valve and a compression fitting for 25 mm tube.
The tube is not supplied with the kit. The photos show one to illustrate the assembly : it is ordinary 25 mm polyethylene tube, to be bought by the metre or in a coil.
Everything is fitted from the outside of the tank, on a 43 mm hole. Nothing to hold inside.
Create a complete water outlet on a 1000-litre tank, and be able to disconnect the pipe without tools. Bulkhead fitting, ball valve and compression fitting for 25 millimetre tube, supplied together and fitted from the outside. Tube not included.
The valve supplied as standard on a 1000-litre container is in S60x6 format, right at the bottom of the tank, and it was designed to empty the container at the industrial user's premises, not to serve an installation. It is low, bulky, hard to reach when the tank sits on its pallet, and above all it imposes its diameter and its thread on everything you want to connect behind it.
Drilling a second outlet completely changes how the 1000L tank is used. You place it at the height that suits you, on the side that suits you, and you choose what goes on it. The original valve remains available for complete emptying ; the new one serves daily use. The two do not get in each other's way, they do not do the same job.
This kit brings together the three parts needed for that, chosen to go together : the bulkhead fitting that goes through the wall, the valve that shuts off, and the fitting that receives the pipe. Nothing to look for, nothing to adapt, no thread to match.
This is the part that sets this kit apart from the others in the range. Instead of a hose barb onto which you push a flexible hose and lock it with a hose clamp, it carries a compression fitting for 25 mm tube. The principle is that of all polyethylene plumbing : you push the tube in fully, screw the ring on by hand, and an internal clamping ring grips the tube against its seat. It seals without tape, without glue and without tools.
The difference shows in use, not in the photo. A hose barb with a clamp is fitted once and never revisited : taking it apart takes a screwdriver, and the hose keeps the mark of the clamp. Here you unscrew the ring by hand and the tube comes out ; the clamping ring leaves at worst a slight impression, without preventing you from refitting in the same place. That is what you want when the same draw-off point serves sometimes watering, sometimes filling, sometimes nothing at all during winter.
The tube itself is not supplied in the kit, and our photos show one only to illustrate the assembly. It is not a special part : 25 millimetre polyethylene tube is an irrigation standard found everywhere in coils, by the metre or by the roll, for a few euros. It can be buried, it does not kink like a flexible hose and it holds pressure. If what you need is rather a standard garden hose to connect directly, look at the hose barb kit in the table below.
The part that goes through the wall is a Quick Joint bulkhead fitting, and its whole value comes down to one sentence : it has no counter-piece to hold inside. You drill the 43 millimetre hole, push the body through from outside, tighten the ring — again from outside — and the fitting is on. At no point do you have to put your hand into the tank.
You have to have tried the opposite to appreciate what this changes. A standard bulkhead fitting comes in two halves : a body offered up to one face of the wall, a nut threaded on at the other face. Put differently, you need to be both inside and outside at once. On a 1000-litre container that is already full, wedged against a wall or standing in a technical room, that means emptying it, moving it, opening it — and most often giving up.
Here the fitting is done on a tank that is in place and full, with both arms free, in a few minutes. No hatch to open, no product to decant before starting, no cage to dismantle. That is the difference between equipping your tank on a Saturday morning and planning a job. And the day the installation changes, the fitting comes off as simply as it went on.
Three kits share the same bulkhead fitting and the same 43 millimetre hole on a 1000L tank. They differ only by the outlet, and it is the outlet that should decide your choice : the diameter sets the flow, the type of connection sets how easily you will disconnect. Here are the three side by side :
| Kit | Outlet | Connection | What sets it apart |
| 0101676 | 20 mm | Hose barb elbow | The most compact and the least bulky |
| 0101673 | 25 mm | Compression fitting | Comes off by hand, no clamp |
| 0101674 | 30 mm | Hose barb elbow and cap | The largest flow, double closure |
As the hole is identical from one kit to another, you can change your mind later without touching the tank again or plugging anything : only the part that screws on behind the valve has to be replaced, and it costs a fraction of the kit. That is why we stock all three outlets rather than a single model.
| Part | Role |
| Quick Joint bulkhead fitting 1 inch | Goes through the wall, fitted entirely from the outside |
| 1 inch ball valve, polypropylene, nitrile O-ring | Quarter turn, full bore |
| Compression fitting, 1 inch to 25 mm tube | Tightens and loosens by hand, without tools |
| 25 mm tube | NOT supplied — ordinary polyethylene tube |
The three parts arrive separately, to be assembled, and they are made to go together : the threads match from one part to the next, you have no adapter to buy and no sealing tape to put between them. Allow five minutes for assembly, adjustable wrench included, once the hole is drilled. The 25 mm tube is not in the box : it is the only thing you will still have to get yourself.
